True Gasket Replacement
A gasket's job is to keep the cold air in and the warm air out. When you begin to notice hardening, cracking or gaps between the door and the gasket it's time for a replacement. Also be on the look out for any color fading as that is also a sign of deterioration.
Our True refrigeration gaskets are genuine OEM replacements that are produced from high-quality material and can be easily installed. True gaskets reduce total cost of ownership by promoting airtight seal and longer lasting doors.
Use of non-OEM door gaskets will not only void your True warranty, but it is a costly disservice to your refrigerator or freezer. Lesser quality leads to faster deterioration and more frequent replacements. Improper dart-to-dart fitting can promote air leakage and an overworked compressor, and eventually premature equipment failure.
Finding The Right True Gasket
Finding the right refrigeration gasket is more difficult than it should be thanks to True using the same model numbers in different production runs. This means you will need to locate the data plate on your fridge or freezer to get more information. Here you can find both the serial and model number.
After locating these two numbers use the True serial number lookup tool to find the manufacturing date of your unit. The age of the True unit is important because different parts were made in different production runs.
Here are two examples of True models with different gaskets based on their manufacturing date:
- True 810803 – Only if your unit was manufactured before 2005
- True 810719 – Only if your unit was manufactured after 2005
GDM-35 Door Gaskets
- True 811134 – Only if your unit was manufactured before 2009
- True 810807 – Only if your unit was manufactured after 2009
There are endless more examples of this for true gaskets. For additional help identifying the correct model and serial number you can reference your True manual.
